Storm Cheer Program

Storm Cheer is for the athlete who is committed to a more demanding practice schedule and who possesses an advanced skill set. Athletes will be trained by coaches who are certified in USASF/IASF, NCCP and CPR/First aid. Storm Cheer prides itself on clear communication with parents, seasonal planning, long term athlete and coach development, a comprehensive cheerleading insurance policy and a safe, well-trained coaching staff.

Practices are twice a week and training is for nine months with additional summer training. Uniforms are required and local as well as national and international competitions are attended. Athletes will develop advanced skills in a fast-paced, challenging and positive environment as well as represent Storm Cheer in the international competitive arena.  Athletes must be willing and able to travel out of province (both in Canada and to the US) for at least two competitions per year.

There is no skill requirement for the Storm Cheer Senior Elite team however all athletes must tryout for the team in the fall. Priority will be given to those athletes that can execute a round off, backhandspring, layout and a standing back tuck. Gymnastics experience is not a requirement for Storm Cheer however it is an asset.
